Kanchanika or Night Flower Jasmin
The local names of this flower of Kanchanaburi Province (Santisukia pagetii) are Lanzhou Khao, Khae Khao or Sadao Dong. This plant is local to Thailand and grows only on limestone mountains in Thailand. This bushy plant is in small - medium sizes or around 5 - 15 meters high. The branches come out from the lower parts of the trunk with the top bud in round shape. The leaves are in a single layer bunch that looks like a feather, with 17 - 35 cm length. The flowers grow at the edge of each branch. Each flower bunch is 20 - 35 cm long, consisting of a great number of flowers. The outer petals struck together in the shape of a short tube. A flower is big and looks like a trumpet with 4 - 6 cm length in light violet colour which will fade away when the flower withers.
